The mags suck. The curved ones are better, but not the best. You can address the mag issue completely by buying a Lingle or A3 Tactical lower. They can now be had starting at $200 for the Magpul like plastic A3 lower or $375 for a high end aluminum lower. You can then run scorpion mags. This seems to solve nearly all the issues with the A1.
