Gmc sierra radio display not working
The swap was fine. Nothing abnormal about it. But when I went to drive the truck the radio didn't work. The screen doesn't come on. The buttons don't light up when I turn on the headlights. The buttons DO come on for 4-5 seconds when I hit the power button. Also, the display does function when pressing the CD buttons:The second time I had to reset the system. I went (on the truck) to settings-> System -> Reset options -> Restart in safe mode. In the on screen instructions it says to shut down engine, open door, close door, then wait 1 min at least (I waited 3 to 5). Started back up and it immediately started working right.OP: There has been a problem recently with the onstar units in the new GM vehicles. My bosses 2015 3500 sierra had the same problem. Had to take it to the dealership, dealership had to order a new onstar module to replace the old one, they then have to reprogram the module.

Through my purchase process I test drove the 2014 Silverado as well and while driving it noticed that the radio home screens are customization in terms of icon order and layout as well as themes. Mine will cut off sound. Usually the first 10 min of driving. Does not matter the location. I also have a 22 Silverado. With just over 2k miles. Has done it since 50 miles. Does not mater am, fm or xm radio. The radio does not change display. Just the sound goes out for 2-3 seconds. As many as 3-4 times.Radio display works but not the other lights.
